A national policy on open access to research articles was published

Abstract

A national policy on open access to scholarly publications was published in November. Open Access to Scholarly Publications concerns scientific journal and conference articles, and it contains four strategic principles and four objectives. The objectives include that all new scientific articles and conference publications will be immediately openly accessible by the 2022. The research community is also to create a jointly funded publishing model for OA articles published in Finland. Strategic principles include that all researchers "have an equal opportunity to publish their research through open access, regardless of field of research, funding basis, or career stage".
